Atorvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering medication that belongs to the statin class of drugs. Statins lower cholesterol levels in the blood by blocking 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A(HMG-CoA) reductase, an enzyme that's needed for the liver to produce cholesterol.
Decreased hepatic cholesterol concentrations stimulate the upregulation of hepatic low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors, which increases hepatic uptake of LDL & decreases LDL level in the blood.
Ezetimibe is a potent and selective inhibitor of cholesterol absorption that has been shown to reduce the overall delivery of cholesterol to the liver, thereby promoting the synthesis of LDL receptors, with a subsequent reduction of serum LDL
Therapeutic Indications Of Atozet 10/10 Tablets
It is used to lower lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when a low-fat diet and lifestyle changes on their own have failed.
Cholesterol is a naturally occurring substance in the body necessary for normal growth. However, if there is too much cholesterol in your blood, it can build up on blood vessel walls, increasing the risk of blood clots and cardiovascular events. Reduce saturated fats. Saturated fats, found primarily in red meat and full-fat dairy products, raise your total cholesterol.
Eliminate trans fats. Trans fats, sometimes listed on food labels as ""partially hydrogenated vegetable oil,"" are often used in margarine and store-bought cookies, crackers, and cakes. Trans fats raise overall cholesterol levels.
Increase soluble fiber. Soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream. Soluble fiber is found in such foods as oatmeal, kidney beans, Brussels sprouts, apples, and pears.
Exercise on most days of the week and increase your physical activity, work up to at least 30 minutes of exercise five times a week
Quitting smoking improves your HDL cholesterol level.
Losing weight will help you to reduce your triglyceride levels. A 5–10 percent weight loss can decrease triglyceride levels by 20 percent. Rondiet Capsules & Ronfit Capsules will help you to decrease your body weight
Sometimes healthy lifestyle changes aren't enough to lower cholesterol levels. If your doctor recommends medication to help lower your cholesterol, take it as prescribed while continuing your lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes can help you keep your medication dose low.
